B Side Lounge
Biography & Highlights
You're walking down Euclid Heights Boulevard in Cleveland when you spot the dark, low-slung entrance of B Side Lounge. It's right under that big red canopy, and if you blink you'll miss the door guy checking IDs on the sidewalk. You walk down the steps into this subterranean room that feels part basement dive, part vintage lounge. It's dark, it smells like old wood and spilled drinks, and the bass from the stage is already rattling your chest before you even hit the floor.
The room is tight with concrete walls, low ceilings, and a long wooden bar running down the side. You can't expect much elbow room when a local indie rock band is packing out the floor. Bartenders are slinging cheap cans and well drinks fast, so you won't be waiting long if you know what you want. It's loud, sticky, and full of Cleveland heads who've been coming here for years.
Sound bounces hard off those concrete walls, making the guitars bite and the vocals muddy if you're standing right in front of the stacks. There aren't many places to sit down, so your legs are going to feel it by midnight. You'll stumble back out onto the Heights sidewalk with your ears ringing and your jacket smelling like smoke.
